Founded by graduates of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, the southland company focuses on story and the common bond that storytelling creates across all forms of artistic, cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic barriers. We are a group of Los Angeles based stage, film, television and digital media artists dedicated to telling "classical stories for a contemporary world", and aiming to create provocative interdisciplinary work with global appeal. The mission of the company is to create quality pieces that are inclusive and reflect narratives commonly ignored in mainstream entertainment. By nurturing emerging artists and being a home to fresh writers we hope to engage a new audience across the diverse neighborhoods of Los Angeles with a deeper appreciation for film, digital media and live performance.
